Estrategias discursivas de normalización en la producción audiovisual sobre la homoparentalidad

Abstract

This work aims to know the different discursive strategies of normalization from which is building the lesbian and gay parenting phenomenon. We turn to the analysis of several and specific audiovisual productions, which show this family reality. The research method used is qualitative, in particular the analysis of discourse on the proposal from Potter and Wetherell of interpretative repertoires. We can identify four different repertoires: “constructing identity”, “visibility and closeness”, “lesbian and gay parenting: a possible option” and “sexual orientation”. Analyzed audiovisual productions prefer to assimilate the experience of lesbian and gay parenting in heterosexual relationships, minimizing the presence of differential elements, which can be awkward. Therefore these attempts risk of blur resources, experiences and nuances that might contribute to a collective construction of the phenomenon more rich and complex in progress on legislative, political and social action.
