La presencia de Vuestra Alteza en esta sesión de lanzamiento del gran programa de la Academia de Ciencias de «Promoción de la Cultura Científica y Tecnológica», aún siendo un acontecimiento extraordinario, no supone tan sólo un honor para nuestra Institución. El pasado año un grupo de científicos, varios de ellos aquí presentes, os manifestábamos nuestra preocupación por el porvenir científico y tecnológico de España, a la vez que juzgábamos que el imprescindible ensanche y crecimiento de nuestro nivel y nuestra calidad técnica y científica deberían arraigar como una responsabilidad del Estado.…
