Análisis geopolítico de los mapas del conocimiento

En este trabajo hacemos uso de las nuevas técnicas de representación de la información, como el análisis de cocitación de sitios web (análisis de cositacion) y el escalamiento multidimensional (MDS), para analizar de forma gráfica las relaciones que establecen entre sí los sitios web de universidades de diferentes países. Pretendemos demostrar que estas relaciones siguen un patrón geopolítico en lugar de académico, y que, por lo tanto, pueden ser consideradas como auténticos mapas «geopolíticos» de Internet. Este tipo de representaciones nos permiten obtener una instantánea de una región geográfica y un momento en el tiempo determinados, por lo que podrían ser utilizadas como herramienta auxiliar para el análisis sociopolítico de la realidad.…
