Editar a los clásicos, una tarea formidable

Establecer un canon para el conjunto fundamental del teatro clásico exige antes el conocimiento de muchas piezas, cosa imposible sin una previa tarea de edición. Este artículo se pregunta por los problemas que plantea esta tarea -que en la cultura española sigue todavía pendiente en su mayor parte, aunque en los últimos años se han dado pasos de crucial importancia- y trata de esbozar un estado de la cuestión sobre la edición de textos dramáticos áureos, teniendo en cuenta dos aspectos principales: 1o) ¿Qué textos están disponibles y cuáles faltan? 2o) ¿Cuáles son los principales problemas técnicos a la hora de abordar una edición y qué soluciones se pueden adoptar?...
