Heterotopía y capitalismo en arquitectura. La función ideológica de las heterotopías como discurso propio de la disciplina arquitectónica en la era de la gobernanza biopolítica

La práctica totalidad de los estudios sobre heterotopías producidos en la disciplina arquitectónica están orientados a la identificación o desarrollo de ciertos espacios como counter-sites capaces de generar resistencia frente a las técnicas disciplinares de un poder administrativo que normaliza y controla a los individuos. Por el contrario, este artículo sostiene que una vez que la concepción disciplinar del poder ha dado paso a la biopolítica y se ha completado el proceso de subsunción real de la sociedad en el capital, las heterotopías han comenzado a funcionar unívocamente, optimizando las relaciones de gobernanza y producción neoliberales, perdiendo el potencial emancipatorio que aún se les adjudica en favor de un funcionamiento ideológico y mistificante del poder que dicen resistir. Gracias al concepto de heterotopía, arquitectos, urbanistas y geógrafos funcionan todavía como técnicos al servicio directo del capital, mientras creen sinceramente en el potencial liberador de su trabajo.
