This article is based on a project done by the research group “Change, Complexity and Innovation” that is part of the Association Society of Knowledge, Development and Innovation (ASCIDE), in an attempt to analyse the discourses and practices that surround the concept of innovation in different cultural, social, economic and institutional entities of the Basque Country. The main objective of this study is knowing how the concept of innovation is build and managed in the different entities. We work with the hypothesis that this concept is also used and understood outside its’ entrepreneurial, scientific and technologic connotations, and therefore it is also important to know how the concept works in the cultural, institutional, social and educational spheres.
