Both the personality and the work of the Aragonese painter Francisco de Goya y Lucientes (1746-1828) have generated a copious and intense artistic reaction among his contemporaries and later artists, down to the present. The work of professor Romero Tobar studies Goya's presence in the two major illustrated magazines of the Romantic years.
