War is an activity that transcends the military plane on which is normally articulated. It is an inherently political activity endowed with a logic of its own, a logic of transformation that is very different from any linear approach familiar from daily life. War is a social reality that needs to be studied scientifically. Ignorance about it, as with any disease, is not a good thing.
