The practice of a sustainable memory: The repertoire of international songs from the Spanish Civil War

Only a small part of the large number of songs played by international volunteers on the Republican side during the Spanish Civil War has made it to us, although transformed by new demands. This text aims at analyzing the survival strategies applied to this repertoire along its path, against the cultural policies of censorship and neglect.
