A review of the problem of the fundament in the phenomenology of Heidegger, criticized by the young Zubiri early in his philosophy, suggests its radicalization with analysis of the religation as seen in the third decade of the last century. The issue of the fundament continues in his mature philosophy, but never reaches a noergical status suggested from the perspective of his final work “Sentient intelligence”. Foundation remains unthinkable in the issue of the fundamental.
